VIDDY GAMES!!!!!!!!!!!1 Who doesn't love videogames!! I LOVE VIDEOGAMES!!! I've been playing games for so many years, and my first ever console was the Playstation 1!

I'm a casual gamer and my favorite game genres are platformers, collectathons, RPGs, fighting games, point-and-click and many more! I mostly enjoy singe-player games as I like feeling immersed and to enjoy the experience fully by myself, but I also love playing collaborative multiplayer games! I'm not a competitive player at all, even though I can semi-decently hold my own in some fighting and hero shooter games...

Some of my favorite consoles are the SNES, the PS1/PS2/PS3/PS4, the Gameboy Advance, the Wii and the 3DS! I didn't have any XBOX consoles growing up and still don't, but I enjoy all kinds of games regardless of generation or console

SOMA (2015)

I was initially introduced to SOMA via watching Markiplier play it on YouTube, and man... I don't think a game ever made me think as much as this one did (⁠ ⁠；⁠∀⁠；⁠) Without getting into spoilers this game really holds nothing back from making you ponder some really heavy existential questions and while it technically delves into a horror aspect of it all... It truly makes for such an unforgettable experience, I can't recommend it enough! I love Simon as a character, I love Catherine, I love the atmosphere of the environments you go through, the sound design, the way you're presented the story... It's so (chef kiss)

As an overall experience it's my absolute top favorite game ever, and I can't get enough of how much it makes me think: What makes someone truly be alive?

SPYRO: YOTD (2000)

OH MY GOD Spyro the Dragon. Probably the biggest reason for my obsession with dragons (and platformers) as a kid... My first experience with a Spyro game was when I was very small and I went with my family to a buffet for a cousin's birthday, and in the corner were a few small tube TVs with some Playstation 1 consoles hooked to them for kids to play with! In one of them was, unsurprisingly, the first Spyro the Dragon game. I had never seen it before and I was immediately smitten, playing as much as I could, and when I came back home I knew that I NEEDED to find that game and play it again...

My late great-aunt would often go out and pass by some kiosks on the streets so I asked her if she could find a game with a purple dragon in it for me. (being a silly bean that I was I don't think I memorized the game name, considering it was already booted when I started playing too so I didn't see the menu screen) One day she went out, came home and gave me a small box for a game with none other than Spyro himself on the cover, and I was like: "THIS IS IT!!!!!!11!"

Upon booting it up I was greeted with the title screen of Spyro: Year of the Dragon... And that was when I realized, wait, this is not it. Is it???????? Even though it didn't seem to be exactly the same game young me couldn't care in the slightest and I played the game RELIGIOUSLY. Every day. Even though I lost my save several times due to unforeseen issues (cough piracy protection cough) and could never officially "finish" it, I always had a blast playing it. It introduced me to amazing worlds, incredible levels, fun gameplay, a kickass soundtrack and so much more, and I got incredibly attached to the little purple fella as well... But I also knew that this wasn't exactly the game I played on the buffet, so the quest wasn't over yet.

I asked my great-aunt again... And she brought me a new Spyro game: Ripto's Rage. I played it. It wasn't the one yet either. Another time, she brought me a new one: And it was the one, the one and only, the first Spyro the Dragon game, the one I played that fateful day. So, as you noticed, it turns out I played the original 3 Spyro games BACKWARDS... But I didn't mind, I loved them all to bits and I was finally able to experience all of them anytime I wanted!! I have since, many years later, able to get them on a modern console and officially beat all of them (to 120%, 100% and 117% completion!!)!! And as much as all three of them have a special place in my heart the first one I played thoroughly in my childhood, from beginning to (almost) end, has remained my personal favorite after all these years. I LOVE Year of the Dragon SO much and I still think it's the strongest of the three games even if not everyone agrees... It's special to me for so many reasons, and it will always be 💙

TOMB RAIDER II (1997)

I can see I'm already getting carried away so I'll try not to write too much here... SO! Tomb Raider, huh... I remember as a kid watching my mom playing them on our computer and I was mesmerized by it, and when we got the PS1 version of Tomb Raider, Tomb Raider 2, 3 and the Last Revelation I was more than happy to give it a try myself!

...As it turns out the games were "too hard" so me and my sister would often boot them up to just randomly explore and play, and we'd also use cheat codes to get all the weapons and skip levels to see what was ahead! We'd have a look, skip to the next level, look around it as well and advance as much as we could until we were stumped and then skip to the next one again! (And sometimes we'd blow Lara up. Just for fun.) By doing the level skips we were scarred by the sudden Atlantean levels in TR1 (oh my GOD THE FLESH WALLS ARE MOVING!!!!!!!!!!11) and by the big boy Torso (I'll never forget watching the cutscene, seeing the ominous EGG above Lara and when the game resumes and it splits open IMMEDIATELY pause the game and nope outta there. HECK NO). Like with Spyro I have since gotten the games on modern consoles and I can proudly say I finished TR1, TR2, TR3 (oh my GOD I hate you. I HATE YOUUUU) and TRTLR! I haven't done Chronicles or Angel of Darkness yet but I will!!

As it is, TR2 to me feels like a favorite because... Well I don't quite know actually... It just stuck to me the most even after all these years! While I think the first game is more "iconic" because it's the start of everything and the sceneries are so unique and atmospheric, the second one took everything the first one did right and worked on it and improved it! It's very hard for me to choose, but for now I'll still say Tomb Raider 2 is my favorite 💙 maybe it's because there's a dragon in it. hm.

POKEMON EMERALD (2004)

While Pokemon Fire Red was my first Pokemon game, I have to say even after all these years Pokemon Emerald still takes the cake. It was such an adventure from the start, raising my team, getting attached to them, exploring Hoenn and falling in love with the region, beating the Elite Four and getting my own Rayquaza... I admit I was a bit of a genwunner back then and I didn't like many of the GEN3 Pokemon at the time but I have since grown a brain. I promise. I love this game and I love the region, I love the Pokemon and I consistently replay it, I genuinely can never get enough of this game! If I want to dive into Pokemon again, Emerald is the one I usually replay 💙

An honorable mention is Pokemon Alpha Sapphire, which is... A GODLY remake, I love it SO MUCH and I'll always be grateful for what it did to Team Aqua (and Archie... omg... Archie...) and for being so faithful while also introducing new things to the game! I truly have a blast with ORAS as well, but I think that for an old-school, pixel classic Pokemon game, Emerald is still the king

DIGIMON WORLD 3 (2002)

Let's talk about Digimon now... I didn't play Digimon World and Digimon World 2 for more than a few hours as a kid as it could never hold my interest for too long, but man... Digimon World 3 had me absolutely HOOKED. I couldn't put it down. I spent an ungodly amount of time playing it, grinding levels, training my Digimon, exploring the map, playing the card minigame... I always loved discovering what Digivolutions my Digimon could get, training them, seeing them appear on the screen and absolutely OBLITERATE whoever was in our way... Fun times

My Digimon partners were always Kumamon, Agumon and Guilmon, and few things have beaten the joy I felt when I finally got BlackWargreymon as a Digivolution. oof

There's nothing quite like getting traumatized by Bulbmon crashing down on that gondola track...

JP WARPATH (1999)

NOW we're talking!! This baby right here was technically the first game I've ever played IN MY LIFE and the first game I ever owned! There's nothing I can say that can properly emphasize how BADASS this was to lil kid me, getting to play AS the dinosaurs was a dream come true!! I played this all the time, beat it a trillion times, and my most loyal fighter was, and has always been the dinosaur that, thanks to this game, is still my favorite dinosaur ever: Suchomimus. What a beauty they are, the design, the sounds... I LOVE THEM SO MUCH RAHHHH

While it may not be as deep of a game as others I've played it was fundamental to my interests growing up and it definetly helped me develop a love for fighting games! Still a classic, I still play it to this day, and I'll always cherish it 💙💙💙
