Marcella­Youko!

HELLO and welcome! This page, as the title suggests, is where I'll be talking a bit about myself! My name is Marcella, I'm from 1995 (so ancient), a INFJ-T, my zodiac sign is Pisces and my birthday is on March 8th! I've first started using the internet around 2007 and I was mostly playing flash games, drawing on MS Paint and taking care of my Neopets... But then I joined deviantArt and started posting my art there! I met some lovely people, kept drawing, and haven't stopped since! I'm very passionate about my art and I'm extremely grateful about my growth as an artist troughout the years, and also absolutely blessed to be able to draw for other people as my current freelance job! I've loved drawing since I was very young and I was always inspired by stuff I watched like cartoons and movies, by toys I had but also by the games I played! I played A LOT of videogames as a kid (I still play as much as I can nowadays, but I just have less time for it sadly ) and my most loyal companion was always the PS1! Oh, the time I spent just playing away and zoning out and wandering maps and enjoying platformers... Take me back I still LOVE videogames and I'm a sucker for the good old single-player games (with SOME multiplayer exceptions, I just mostly like working together and having fun but I enjoy Overwatch too from time to time) where I can just sit back and enjoy the story and the gameplay and be immersed in an amazing world!

Similarly I also LOVE writing!! I LOVE LOVE LOVE pouring my thoughts into words and weaving them into something special (or cringy. but I'm cringe and free) and personal, I love developing characters and narratives and exploring relationships, symbolism, foreshadowing, ALL THAT GOOD STUFF RAHHHH I've been writing self-indulgent, cringy fanfics since all the way back to 2009-ish, and I genuinely have such an amazing time coming up with stories and trying my best to work them into something cool to read! I love creating original stories for my OCs (both ferals and humans) but I also LOOOOVE making fanfics for my fandom OCs and developing OCxOC and OCxCanon ships 💞💞💞 Writing is one of my favorite things to do and, like making art, no machine can take that from me.

But hey, let me just say... If you're from the crowd that perpetuates the "AI has a very noticeable syntax and tone", "your writing has an AI tell", "AI loves using 'it's not x, it's y'" and go out of your way to accuse writers who write a certain way... You're not being as helpful as you might think you're being You know who else writes in such ways? Humans! "AI loves using the em dash" you know who else does? Humans?? Where do you think the machines get the information from? Where do you think it learned? If there's one in every other phrase sure, that's weird, if there's an "it's not x, it's y" in every other sentence that's absolutely sus, but otherwise we have to stop treating every writer like a fraud just because the machines are writing like people did since forever 😭 If you're a casual writer and things are even slightly redundant or wonky = "that's AI", if you're literate and write perfectly or well enough = "that's AI"... Like 🫠🫠🫠

I just don't think people should be afraid of writing a certain way just because "oh the AI loves doing it", but at the same time it's so disheartening to have to walk on eggshells and be so paranoid about everything you see or read. It's absolutely valid to be at least a little paranoid considering how widespread the use of AI regrettably is, but I just really wish genuine writers would stop being attacked for their writing because of the way AI writes. The machine only knows how to do it this way because it scraped people's writing in the first place. I love writing, my writing has (thankfully) improved so much over time, and I'll always love writing. I struggle with pain on my wrists from carpal tunnel syndrome BECAUSE I write and draw so much. I'll keep writing no matter what, and no one can take this from me.

You can pry the semicolon and the em dash out of my cold dead body.

...ANYWAY! On a different note, as an extra fun fact, I like collecting tiny things. Smol little things. I love them. If you show me a ridiculously small pebble or like a tiny soda can 20x smaller than their actual size I will probably cry on the spot. I love tiny things.
